Thank you for your interest in joining Ulfhedinn Vikings.
We meet every Thursday evening at Canford Heath Community Centre (BH17 8UE)
from 7:45 pm to 9:45 pm.
Please use car park in Scarf Rd behind the Pilot Pub.
Typically our training is split into two main areas:

Combat – including swords, spears, Dane axes, archery, drills and formations.

Self-motivated crafting – such as kit making, tablet weaving, and other hands-on skills.
Participants only, spectators are not allowed.
New Perspective Members

Please message us first if you are planning on attending so we can ensure we have enough equipment.

Please let us know in advance and whether you’re more interested in the combat, missiles or craft side of the group. This helps us ensure the right people are available to welcome you and answer any questions.

If you’d like to try combat, we can provide a basic loan kit (sword, shield, helmet, and gloves) for the evening. We do recommend bringing a beanie-style hat to wear under the helmet for comfort and hygiene, as well as a bottle of water.

If you wear glasses, we recommend using contact lenses for the session. If this isn’t suitable, you’ll need to remove your glasses during combat for safety reasons, as glasses are not permitted under battlefield conditions.

For your first visit, all newcomers are asked to complete a guest membership form. There is a small fee of £1 per adult for your first session to help cover insurance and hall hire.

After that, weekly sessions cost £4. There is also an annual Viking Society membership fee of £21* which can be discussed further on the night. Please note that unless you become a Society member, you will need to complete a guest membership form each time you attend, and will be unable to attend events as part of the group/viking society.
